PUBLIC NOTICE
United States Army Corps of Engineers
Portland District

The Department of Defense recognizes the importance of stakeholder participation for Installation Restoration Programs (IRP). Therefore, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is announcing the establishment and initial meeting of a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB). The RAB is intended to improve public participation by involving the community in the restoration decision-making process.

The RAB includes members who reflect the diverse interests of the local community. RAB members will be asked to review and comment on plans and activities relating to the ongoing environmental studies and restoration activities at the Bradford Island Superfund Site. RAB members will have the opportunity to provide input on activities that will accelerate the restoration. Members will also be expected to serve as a voluntary liaison between the community and the RAB and be available to meet with community members and/or groups. RAB meetings are open to the public.

The RAB will have two Co-Chairs – one from USACE and one from the community. Their responsibilities will be held jointly, and they will serve as equal partners in overseeing the activities of the RAB. Effective February 7, 2023, Ms. Chris Budai, Technical Program Manager for the Bradford Island Superfund Site, will serve as the USACE Co-Chair of the RAB.

In this initial meeting of the RAB, a Community Co-Chair will be selected by the RAB members, a mission statement will be developed, and operating procedures will be discussed. There will also be an opportunity for public comment.
