The annual maintenance lock closure for Portland District, Corps of Engineers is scheduled for March 2018. Maintenance, inspection and repair work
will take place at the locks during the closure.
Locks to be closed include Bonneville Lock & Dam (Columbia River Mile 145); The Dalles Lock & Dam (Columbia River Mile 191); and John Day
Lock & Dam (Columbia River Mile 216).
All locks will close at 6 a.m. on Saturday, 3 March 2018.
Bonneville and The Dalles navigation locks will return to service at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday 18 March 2018.
John Day navigation lock will return to service at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday 25 March 2018.
The Locks and Dams have scheduled routine inspections and maintenance, as well as non-routine work. The non-routine work includes gate structural repairs, navigation lock concrete repair and equipment/machinery repair/replacement.
