  • USACE awards $35.9M contract for Mount St. Helens sediment dam improvement

    In an effort to manage flood risk for downstream communities, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will raise the dam that captures some of the sediment that continues to flow from Mount St. Helen after its 1980 eruption. USACE awarded a $35.9 million contract to Anvil Builders, Inc., to raise the 184-foot-tall Mount St. Helens Sediment Retention Structure (SRS) by 10 feet.
  • Corps awards $5 million contract for Rogue River dredging at Gold Beach

    Army officials announce a $5.3 million contract award for dredging the Rogue River at Gold Beach, Ore. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) maintains navigation channels along the Oregon coast and dredging is an important component of keeping the Rogue River Harbor open for recreational vessels, including jet boats, fishing guides and sport fishermen.
  • Corps awards hatchery operations contract

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $6.2 million contract to Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to operate and maintain the Bonneville Fish Hatchery, on the Columbia River. The firm-fixed contract is for one year, with two consecutive option years, if exercised, in-order-to produce fall Chinook to aid in mitigation obligations for The Dalles and John Day dams.
