Corps seeks volunteer campground host for Roosevelt and Plymouth parks

PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a campground host for the 2013 recreation season at Plymouth and Roosevelt parks.

 

A friendly, customer service-oriented volunteer is needed to help maintain the grounds and assist visitors in each park.  You must be willing to work weekends from April through October 2013, and wear the volunteer uniform while on duty.  The Corps will provide electricity (30 amps), sewer and water hookups along with any additional work-related items.

 

The small community of Plymouth is located in Benton County, near Highway 14 on the Columbia River, about 10 miles north of Hermiston, Ore.  Local amenities include a restaurant, bar and post office.

 

The small community of Roosevelt is in Klickitat County, off Highway 14 on the Columbia River, about 30 miles from Goldendale, Wash.  Local amenities include a mini-mart, pub, restaurant and post office.

 

Both Roosevelt and Plymouth parks are located on the Washington shore of the Columbia River and offer a variety of recreational activities including camping, swimming, wildlife viewing, boating and fishing.
