PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its partners will hold their next conference call Mar. 26 at 10 a.m. to plan Rogue River Basin Project summer water management operations.

This is an interagency work session. Public questions and comments will not be addressed at this session, but can be directed to the appropriate agency representatives at other times.
The Corps works with a variety of federal and state environmental protection, fish and wildlife, and water resource agencies to develop its annual May through October water management plan. Initial discussions start in February.
February’s discussions and recommendations are followed by preliminary reservoir refill projections in March, and then draft water release recommendations in April. The process is continually informed by snowpack and water supply forecasts.
The Rogue Basin water management plan is usually finalized in May, although mid-summer alterations are often made due to changing weather conditions and water availability.
