PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, will close Plymouth Day Use Area in Plymouth, Wash., for the season, August 29. The closure allows the Corps to conduct maintenance as a result of vandalism. The day use area normally closes September 15.
“While the early closure is unfortunate, the extra time for maintenance will help us provide quality recreation facilities into the future,” said Tim Darland, natural resource manager for Corps.
Questions about the closure can be directed to the John Day Ranger Office at 541-739-1135. Anyone with knowledge of the vandalism should contact the Benton County Sheriff's Office at their non-emergency phone number: 509-628-0333.
