Moving John Day nav lock gate by barge
Photos of the John Day gate sections and crane moored just below the navlock, and a tug moving the floating bulkhead into position to seal the downriver entry prior to dewatering, which began Dec. 10, 2010. A barge with two new navigation lock friction sheaves and a Manitowoc Model 888 crane passed through Bonneville Lock and Dam on Dec. 1, 2010, heading for John Day Lock and Dam.
