Googlers at The Dalles Dam make Volunteer Day work
On June 12, 42 volunteers from Google worked on service projects at The Dalles Dam Visitor Center, Seufert Park and Patterson Park. The Googlers provided a total of 129 hours of labor, yielding more than $2,856 in savings to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Park rangers and volunteers worked on painting guardrails and signposts; improving trails, draining Patterson Pond and scooping silt out; removing brush and debris; planting 37 native plants around the visitor center; and trimming and pulling weeds. Their hard work helped to beautify our parks, and allowed us to catch up on a backlog of maintenance items. Thank you, volunteers!
