Study schedule: Lower Willamette River Environmental Dredging and Ecosystem Restoration, Integrated Feasibility Study and Environmental Assessment, Final Report

Oaks Bottom, located in the Willamette River, is one of five sites included in the environmental restoration project partners the Corps of Engineers and the city of Portland will undertake. The Corps announced the project had received approval from the Civil Works Review Board in Washington, D.C. on July 30, 2015.

The Corps announced the project had received approval from the Civil Works Review Board in Washington, D.C. on July 30, 2015.

Section 1002 of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) allows for greater transparency in the notification and reporting of feasibility study milestones. WRRDA Section 1002 requires the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District Engineer to provide non-Federal interests a notification of feasibility study milestone schedules for all active studies that received Investigation appropriations since October 1, 2009 until June 10,2014. Studies initiated after June 10, 2014 also require notification of five key milestones within 90 days of signing the Feasibility Cost Sharing Agreement.

The current study schedule for the following five key milestones associated with the Corps' Lower Willamette River Environmental Dredging and Ecosystem Restoration, Integrated Feasibility Study and Environmental Assessment, Final Report:

o Release of the Draft Feasibility Report 15 September- 15 October, 2014
o District Submittal of the Final Feasibility Report- 25 February 2015
o MSC Transmittal of the Final Feasibility Report- 27 May 2015
o Civil Works Review Board - 29 July 2015
o Signed Chief's Report - November 2015

Schedules are based on the assumption of full-funding (Federal and non Federal) over the course of the study. Up-to-date study schedules will be posted and available to the public at www.nwp.usace.army.mil. All schedules and missed deadlines will also be submitted in an annual report to Congress.
