PORTLAND,
Ore. - The U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers is seeking public comments on the draft Environmental Assessment for ecosystem restoration
at Columbia Stock Ranch.
The Corps proposes to restore hydrologic connectivity
between the Columbia Stock Ranch project site and the Columbia River. This will
restore structure and function of floodplain habitats, provide fish access to
wetlands and off-channel habitats, and increase rearing and foraging opportunities
for juvenile fish to improve survival in the lower Columbia River and estuary.
The draft EA is available for
review on the Corps’ web site at http://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/Media/Announcements.aspx.
Questions or comments regarding the
draft document should be directed to Joyce Casey, 503-808-4760, or Joyce.E.Casey@usace.army.mil. Comments, postmarked by April 29, 2016,
