  • Corps hosts Eagle Watch at The Dalles

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host The Dalles Dam Bald Eagle Watch Jan. 19 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Dalles Dam Visitor Center in The Dalles, Ore. Area residents and visitors can catch a glimpse of our national symbol, the American bald eagle, and other raptors during this two-day event.
  • Corps seeks comments for revised Sandy River Delta Environmental Assessment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking comments on its revised plan to improve habitat for juvenile salmonids in the Sandy River Delta, particularly those species listed under the Endangered Species Act. The public is invited to comment on the draft Environmental Assessment until Jan. 21, 2013.
  • Bonneville Dam's visitor centers closed Dec. 24 and 25

    Bonneville Lock and Dam’s visitor centers and recreation areas will be closed all day Dec. 24 and 25. The dam will resume normal operations Wednesday, Dec. 26.
  • Fern Ridge's endangered butterfly population doubles

    The population of endangered Fender’s blue butterflies has doubled at Fern Ridge Reservoir since last year, continuing a trend of positive population growth since it was first detected on Corps lands.
  • Cougar Reservoir going deep this week

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is performing a “deep drawdown” of Cougar Reservoir this week, lowering the reservoir’s surface to 1,500 feet above sea level to test a possible method of improving downstream fish passage past Cougar Dam.
  • Fall Creek Reservoir to "go deep" again this week

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers alerts neighbors and visitors to Fall Creek Reservoir that the Corps plans to lower the reservoir’s water level well below normal winter levels this week to assist the downstream passage of juvenile spring Chinook salmon listed under the Endangered Species Act.
  • The Dalles navigation lock to close for repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close The Dalles navigation lock between 6 a.m. Dec. 5 and 6 p.m. Dec. 7 for repairs to its downstream gate. Navigation locks at Bonneville and John Day dams will remain open for normal operations.

  • Corps seeks information about Cottage Grove Lake tree vandalism

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its partners are seeking information from the public about the vandalism of about 20 trees near the western shoreline of Cottage Grove Lake in the vicinity of 75200 London Road, Cottage Grove, Ore., in May 2012.
