PORTLAND, ORE. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a second public meeting Feb. 26 at the Rufus Community Center beginning at 6:30 p.m., to discuss the proposed temporary closure of Philippi Park, located near John Day Dam.
Increased costs and budget cuts have made the status of the park uncertain, but the Corps continues to seek ideas that could keep the park open. Albert Philippi Park is located on the John Day River about 3 miles southeast of John Day Lock and Dam.
The public meeting will be held at the Rufus Community Center, 304 W. 2nd St., Rufus, Ore.
