    Corps relaxes restrictions for some recreation sites in Oregon and Washington

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District (Corps) is relaxing restrictions at some recreation sites in Oregon and Washington, Thursday, May 7th as the first phase in a gradual relaxing of closures at Corps locations.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District (Corps) is relaxing restrictions at some recreation sites on the Washington state side of the Columbia River, Tuesday, May 5, as the first phase in a gradual reopening of Corps locations. All other Corps-managed recreation sites remain closed at this time.

    The Corps begins refill at Detroit Dam during spillway gate construction

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District will begin refilling Detroit Dam reservoir up to an elevation of 1450 feet from now through Jan. 31. The Corps will continue spillway gate rehabilitation work on two of Detroit Dam’s spillway gates while refill begins.

    Update on spillway gate rehabilitation work at Detroit Dam

    The Corps has decided to manage Detroit Dam’s reservoir levels between 1425 and 1450 ft. from now through the middle of Jan. 2020 during construction on two of the dam’s spillway gates. There are no anticipated impacts to reservoir refill or summer pool elevations.
