U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closes USACE-operated campgrounds, day-use parks
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has closed USACE-operated campgrounds and day-use parks nationwide, effective Tuesday, October 1, 2013, due to shutdown of the federal government for lack of fiscal 2014 funding legislation. Not all recreation areas are affected, and closed recreation areas will reopen after the shutdown is lifted.
