Celilo Park access restricted during tree trimming

Published June 11, 2015
PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers alerts users of Celilo Park that the park’s lawn and restrooms may not be accessible at times June 16-18. Those areas of the park may be placed off limits to ensure visitors’ safety while hazard trees and limbs are removed.

The boat ramp and portions of the day use area will remain open, but park rangers ask that all tents be removed from the park prior to June 16. Celilo Park is expected to fully reopen to visitors and tent campers June 19.

Celilo Park is located on the south bank of the Columbia River about 13 miles upriver from The Dalles, Oregon, at Exit 97 off Interstate Highway 84.

Any questions or concerns may be directed to 541-506-7857. For more information about Celilo Park and other recreation areas near The Dalles Lock and Dam, visit http://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/Locations/ColumbiaRiver/TheDalles.aspx.
