The crane on top of Foster Dam empties a container of fish into a transport truck near Sweet Home, Ore. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers used the crane and an elevator system, which was innovative for its time, for adult fish collection and passage over Foster Dam; however, the equipment wasn’t fully successful in moving fish above the dam in an efficient manner. The Corps will remove the crane, which will result in a road closure Dec. 4-29.
