Lamprey: ancient fish
In May, Fisheries Biologist Bernard Klatte captured this image of a Pacific lamprey clinging to the fish viewing window at Bonneville Dam. “I wanted a shot of the mouth structure to show my kids... lamprey will exhibit a cluster behavior while resting, so it's not unusual to see more than one," Klatte said. The Corps has been modifying its fish ladders to make upstream passage easier for lamprey, a fish important to Native Americans.
