For the third year, the Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has published its famed cat and dog calendars.

The two free calendars, which are now available to download, follow the success of the first 2023 Cat Calendar, and the 2024 Cat Calendar and 2024 Dog Calendar.

These new pet calendars for 2025 are elevated versions of previous calendars that “won the internet” (Oregonian’s words, not ours) in 2023 and again in 2024.

It’s the format that made its home in thousands of households and offices worldwide: cats and dogs interacting with government infrastructure alongside humorous commentary about the many missions of USACE’s largest and most diversified civil works districts.

“At the end of the day, we're public servants,” said Col. Dale Caswell, the commander of the Portland District. “And one of the most beneficial things we can do for the American public is to talk about who we are and what we do in ways that will actually reach and resonate with them.”

These calendars may be fetched at any time from these links:

In 2023, the Cat Calendar achieved remarkable success, with over 500,000 downloads from the USACE Digital Library, making it the highest downloaded USACE document of the year. The calendars have contributed to the visibility and positive perception of USACE, helping the Portland District build a reputation as a proactive and community-oriented organization. (With the help of its comical-yet-educational Facebook and Instagram accounts, of course.)
