PORTLAND, Ore. – Four recreation areas at Dexter and Lookout Point dams are closed to the public to support firefighting efforts at the Jones Fire, east of Eugene, Ore. The Jones fire is located in the Little Fall Creek watershed in the Willamette National Forest.

The following areas are be closed for an incident command post, life support (camping and temporary facilities for firefighters), storage and equipment use:
Dexter State Park at the south shore of Dexter Reservoir
South Shore fishing access point directly below Dexter Dam
Meridian Park at Lookout Point Reservoir near the north end of the dam
Lookout Point Dam Overlook Area at the north end of the dam

The expected duration of these closuers may vary. For more details about recreational impacts, please contact the Willamette Valley Project, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ranger office at 541-942-5631.
